The face you see is not me. It is the face you want it to be. It doesn't let you know how I feel So, you don't see the hurt it conceals. If you would take the time to look, you could see my face is as an open book. If you would look into my eyes, you would see the tears they hide, My friends now don't have time for me since I was told I have trouble with memory. I can't help what has happened to me, but people look at me differently. Oh God! They don't understand, but they could be there to hold my hand. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease, it strips you of who you used to be. So, I wear a mask for all to see, that, on the outside, I am still who I used to be.
